A Comprehensive Perspective on Excellence

The global higher education landscape consists of various evaluation systems, each with a unique definition of success. At TUAS, our goal is not to confine your university to a few popular indices, but to transform it into a global player in every field—from research power to digital transparency. The following indices are strategic tools that certify your institution’s academic DNA from diverse perspectives.

These rankings directly measure a university’s “knowledge production capacity”, focusing on raw bibliometric data rather than subjective surveys.

ARWU (Academic Ranking of World Universities - Shanghai Ranking)

Recognised as the world’s most elite and methodologically rigorous ranking. Key criteria include the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, articles published in Nature and Science journals, and the count of “Highly Cited Researchers”.

CWTS Leiden Ranking

Based entirely on Web of Science data, this index offers the highest level of bibliometric purity. It analyses parameters such as publication impact, open-access percentage, and international/industrial collaboration levels using a “fractional counting” method.

NTU Ranking (National Taiwan University)

Measures the success of scientific papers in both the long term (total citations) and short term (current publication performance). It provides deep analysis under three main headings: research productivity, impact, and excellence.

SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR)

Utilising Scopus data, this system measures not only research but also innovation (patents) and societal impact. It is one of the most comprehensive systems, ranking institutions at global, regional, and national levels.

These indices evaluate managerial success, graduate quality, and general efficiency through non-survey data.

Webometrics (Ranking Web of Universities):

These measure the level of “accessibility to information” and “digital presence” key expectations of the modern era.

  • Details: Measures the university’s impact on the web (backlink count), transparency (researcher profiles on Google Scholar), and excellence (top-cited papers).
  • Institutional Impact: Documents the university’s “digital shop window” strength, its transparency, and the global effectiveness of its open science policies.

The fact that all these rankings have different methodologies and intensive schedules spanning from January to December creates a significant operational burden on universities. TUAS transforms this complexity into an advantage:

Methodological Synchronisation

We ensure that a single academic output is mapped correctly to meet both ARWU criteria and Scopus-based SCImago metrics simultaneously.

Strategic Focus

Based on the university's existing data, we analyse in which index the fastest ascent can be achieved and coordinate the canalisation of resources in the most effective direction.

Calendar Management

By tracking all application, data validation, and announcement dates on the Timeline on behalf of the institution, we eliminate the risk of "timing errors".
