MUSEUMS

The museum, where the historical monuments of Adana and all of Çukurova are exhibited, was established in 1924 right after the declaration of the Republic. Therefore, it is one of Turkey's oldest museum.

There are 17,071 archaeological artifacts and 26,547 coins in the museum. At the entrance of the Garden Museum, two archaic statues, cubes, catapult roses, inscriptions, altars and various architectural pieces are exhibited along with two Augustus sculptures brought from Silifke / Taşucu and Uzuncaburç.

The entrance floor is the Stone Works Hall. The marble sarcophagus, which depicts the Trojan wars in the form of high relief here, was brought from Tarsus. It is known as "Akhilleus Lahti".

Also, the Medusa from the Augusta ancient city, which is located in Seyhan Dam Lake, and the bronze Karataş statue brought from the ancient city of Karataş / Magarsus are among the most interesting works of this hall.
